The Newcastle United left-back or winger was signed on an emergency basis up to, and including, April 1 - the date of the Wolves derby at St Andrew's.
Winger Hall has returned to West Ham United for assessment and treatment, but is still on loan with Blues until March 16.
A produce of Newcastle's youth system, Northern Ireland international Ferguson has made 14 appearances for the Magpies this season, but the last was at the end of December, the 7-3 hammering at Arsenal.
Veteran left-back Paul Robinson recently injured his knee and ankle, paving the way for Mitchell Hancox to come into the team, and hold his place at Peterborough United.
With David Muprhy (knee) out for the season, Ferguson bolsters that left-back slot and also makes up for the loss of Hall further up the pitch.
