The Watford Observer have noted that Watford have increased their squad this evening by signing Fulham left back Matthew Briggs on mortgage. 21-year-old Briggs is called running, pacey and can perform skilled jobs both protecting as a left back or attacking in a more advanced position. It's been common knowledge Watford have been wanting to secure competition to recent left wing back Daniel Pudil in the January exchange window but failed to land either of these two goals, Jeremy Helan and Robbie Brady. Briggs has produced 8 appearances for Fulham up to now this year as well 4 appearances throughout a loan cause at Bristol City in November. Watford have had concerns in support in recent days with Pudil ill and Fitz Hall, Tommie Hoban, Nueton and Joel Ekstrand all wounded sooner or later.
