Liverpool Target Summer Move For Manchester City Powerhouse by Steven ... - caughtoffside

Liverpool are said to be keen on a summer swoop for Manchester City and England full-back, Micah Richards, The Mirror understands.

However, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers may face some stiff competition for the Team GB star's signature with the likes of Arsenal, Paris St Germain, Juventus and Real Madrid all keeping tabs on his situation.

City's player of the year last season has struggled with injuries this term and has been limited to just four appearances, but that hasn't quelled Rodgers' interest as he looks to shake up his squad this summer.

But City still feel that he has a future at Eastlands as they have slapped a £15m price tag on him to scare off any potential suitors.

Richards was in the news earlier this month after becoming the third City player this month to receive a six-month driving ban after being caught speeding and refusing to pay surcharges.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with the England international in the past and could be tempted to make a move of their own should the player indicate a willingness to leave the Premier League champions.

Despite making just a handful of appearances this season, the 24-year-old remains an attractive prospect because of his strength, youth and versatility, able to play on the right side or centre of defence.
