By his own high standards and by his own admission, it's been a difficult season for the Frenchman – not that he regrets for a second his decision to leave Arsenal for the Etihad Stadium in 2011.
Nasri turned in a midfield masterclass in his 70 minute appearance against Newcastle on Saturday and the Marseille-born playmaker revealed he is hitting top form as the season reaches its final eight weeks.
"I do not have regrets. I do not regret joining Manchester City. I won the league while Arsenal have difficulty to finish fourth," Nasri told beIN Sports.
"I am aware that I do not realise a good season. There are many reasons. But when Mancini said that I'm training at 50% this is not true.
"Wenger told me that if Cesc [Fabregas] left, I would stay, but [Stan] Kroenke wanted the money. I had one year left & decided to go."
Meanwhile, reported summer target Neymar looks set to stay with Santos beyond the end of his current deal in 2014 – that's according to Sky Sports.
"The player has told the media that his father - who represents him - is in talks with [Santos President] Vila Belmiro over extending his stay," the website reports.
When asked by ESPN Brazil about his chances of extending his deal with Santos, he said: "Why not? Talks are underway, but they are more with my father than with me."
If City aren't linked with Edinson Cavani in a newspaper for 24 hours, you can pretty much guarantee that fellow be-coiffed South American goal machine Radamael Falcao will be – and that's the case today with the Express reporting that the 25-year old wants out at Atletico Madrid.
"Falcao's agent, Jorge Mendes, has leaked the player's decision to [leave to] leading scouts in the game," John Richardson reports.
"It will spark a bidding war between the two big-spending Premier League clubs [City and Chelsea] and Chelsea could try to offload Fernando Torres back to his former club as part of any deal."
No quotes from said agent in that one but we'll let you know if it anything comes of the link first here on mcfc.co.uk.
"Maicon is being chased by Russian clubs Anzhi Makhachkala and Zenit St Petersburg," the story reads. "The Manchester City right-back, 31, has started just four league games this term."
