NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) a' Rutgers university, alumni and students need to know why it took weeks to oust the men's basketball coach captured on film shoving people and berating them with a gay slur. Henry Rice was fired Wednesday after a video was seen by the public made by a worker that showed how he operated at practices between 2010 and a year ago. University authorities saw the video late a year ago and hanging Rice for three activities. One group of faculty members claims that punishment was too gentle and university President Robert Barchi should step down over it. Alumna Debbie Hadley says she believes the coach wouldn't have been dismissed if the video had stayed out from the public attention. State Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver is calling for proceedings to check out that matter.
