If anybody is surprised that Tiger Woods could be the odds-on favorite to win the Players Championship, they are surviving in a vacuum. The Striped One has won three times in 2013 and seems to be at the very top of his game. Having said that, Tiger has not had a superb record at Sawgrass. He's won just oncea'in 2001. Given Tigeras predilection for multiple victories on a tiny quantity of courses, Iad say his 7/1 possibilities probably are out of line. Adam Scott, coming off his Masters win, may be the bettors 2nd choice at 16/1. Scott won the Players in 2004, so thereas sense by which history can also be against him. Multiple Players Championships have been won by no one since Hal Sutton in 1983 and 2000. Rory McIlroy shows signs of life in recent weeks, but Iam skeptical of his possibilities also. Heas in at 16/1. At 22/1 are Luke Donald and Phil Mickelson. Phil had himself capable to gain at Quail Hollow a week ago, but blew up down the stretch. He doesnat seem prone to me. As usual, I look for someone at the center. The ability is so deep these daysa'and very deep in this particular fielda'that it appears to me that the typical elite suspects don't have any particular advantage. The complete odds follow, thanks to Bovada.LV
