Collection defender Per Mertesacker admits it hurt to see former teammate Robin van Persie in a Manchester United shirt. Sunday sees Van Persie come back to the Emirates Stadium for the very first time since his 24 million pound move to Old Trafford last summer, and he does a Premier League winner so after his hat trick against Aston Villa last Monday sealed Unitedas 20th group title. Mertesacker is currently eager for him and his Arsenal teammates to exhibit their former striker that the Gunners aren't feeling his absence. "Robin started so well instantly at United," the 28-year-old German center straight back told the Daily Mirror. "At Arsenal, we asked one another 'how do he harm us like that?' "He won major objectives from the comfort of the start. As participants, we talked lots of times about any of it when we moved or just when United enjoyed and Robin had scored. It absolutely was hard since we knew that last year he'd been rescuing us plenty of times. He would score plenty of targets for Arsenal at the end of the game. "But we now have the chance to show Robin wasn't in charge of our entire group. He's gone and we've replaced him well. It's not merely about one person replacing Robin, we have four of five players who have around this season to 10 objectives. More players were needed by us to displace him." Mertesacker also revealed that the bulk of the Arsenal group, including himself, voted for the Dutchman as PFA Player of the Entire Year. He added: "Of course, I voted for Robin in the PFA prizes. With his features, he only produces annually. I believe the majority of the Arsenal team chosen for him. He is a world class player. "Robin was and still is quite respected here and he was my teammate, so he's not out of my head completely. I still have his number."
