Alonso wanted at Stoke - Clubcall

Stoke will make another attempt to sign Bolton defender Marcos Alonso at the end of the season, reports have claimed.

The Potters were in the hunt to sign the former Real Madrid star during the January transfer window but for one reason or another he stayed at the Reebok Stadium.Alonso has impressed for Dougie Freedman's side this season but there is every chance he will be on the move unless Bolton tie him down to a new contract before his current one runs out in the summer. There is no sign of that just yet and that could open up the door for Stoke to swoop. Boss Tony Pulis is delighted to have Marc Wilson back fit but he still wants more cover at left-back and Alonso is on his list of targets.Alonso does have other options though and he may be tempted to try his luck in Italy, where Fiorentina are showing an interest, if he does decide to leave Bolton.
